Aboite Animal Hospital Team

Veterinarians:

Brian Koesters, DVM

Dr. Koesters is co-owner of Animal Hospital of Syracuse, Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic, and Aboite Animal Hospital.  He earned his DVM from Purdue University in 2002.  He has worked in Fort Wayne since that time.  He and his wife, Jodi, have three girls: Raelyn, Maylee, Layna, and twin boys, Reid and Rube. They also have a black Labrador retriever named Charlotte.

Dr. Chastain is a co-owner at the Animal Hospital of Syracuse, Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic, and, more recently, Aboite Animal Hospital. He graduated from DePauw University in 1988 and received his D.V.M from Purdue University in 1992. He previously was a veterinarian in Ft. Wayne at St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital from 1992 to 2012.  He has a special interest in veterinary dentistry/oral surgery and enjoys general medicine and surgery. Dr. Chastain's wife, Tonya, is an elementary school teacher in Northwest Allen Community Schools. They have 3 children, Chandler, Caitlyn, and Caroline, and a cat named Pedro.

 William Chastain, DVM

Dr. Parker received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2011, and completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University. She has been an associate veterinarian at Aboite Animal Hospital since 2012. She enjoys examining and treating reptiles, small mammals, as well as dogs and cats. Her and her husband have 2 dogs, a bearded dragon and 2 ferrets.

Linda Parker, DVM

Dr. Koch received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2009, and completed her clinical year at Purdue University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in June of 2018 after working at another clinic on the north side of Ft. Wayne for almost 10 years. Her and her husband have 3 kids and a cat named T-Rex.

Nicole Koch, DVM

Registered Veterinary Nurses:

Liza received her bachelors degree from Purdue's Veterinary Nursing Program in 2011. She has been working at Aboite Animal Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Nurse since 2012.

Liza Emerick

Kenzie started at Aboite Animal hospital as an intern student in 2014, and officially joined the team as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in January 2016 after graduating from Purdue University's Veterinary Nursing program in 2015. Her and her soon-to-be husband have a black Labrador Retriever named Brantley. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, summer days at the lake, exercising, country concerts and watching sports.

Kenzie Stillberger

Rachel has had a passion for animals since her early childhood. She started school at Purdue University's online Veterinary Nursing Program in 2011 while working at another clinic. She later joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2015, graduated from Purdue in December of 2016, and officially became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the Spring of 2017. She has two dogs: a Jack Russell named Zoe and a Rat Terrier Mix named Snickers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, going for bike rides, and taking the dogs for long walks.

Rachel Jancso

Assistants:

Vicki joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in the fall of 1997. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grand-child. She has a miniature long-haired Dachshund named Sadie. Vicki is also a member of the Almost Home Dachshund Rescue Society, and does some pet-sitting on the side. 

Vicki Carlo

Holly joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2018. She originally went to school for dance at Ball State University, but later pursued her interest in veterinary medicine in 2004 by becoming a veterinary assistant. Her and her husband have 1 daughter, Liza, and a lab mix named Raven. In her spare time, Holly enjoys fitness, music, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and swimming.

Holly Pieri

Lindsay was a student intern at Aboite Animal Hospital in the spring of 2016, and later joined the team in February of 2019. She graduated from the veterinary technology program at Brown Mackie College with her Associates Degree of Applied Sciences. Her and her husband have a husky/pitbull mix named River, and a bearded dragon named Coco. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys thrift shopping, hiking, and binge-watching documentaries on Netflix.

Lindsay Rohrbaugh

Angel joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in July of 2019. She graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2017 with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. Her and her fiance have a cat named Mo and a pitbull named Julie. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She's always loved animals and is excited to be a part of the Aboite Animal Hospital family.

Angel Pyle

Client Relations Specialists:

Cathe always had family pets growing up, so, naturally, she has always loved animals. She has been in the veterinary field since 2000. She started at Aboite Animal Hospital in August of 2009 after moving to Ft. Wayne. She has a goldendoodle named Ella that is very loving and high energy. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and step-daughter, playing tennis, being with friends, and watching Netflix.

Cathe Schwertfager

Robin joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in January 2016. She is originally from Indianapolis, where she and her husband raised 4 sons, 3 of which are in the Army. Her background is in finance, but her love of animals, especially her shih tzu Charlie, has brought her to veterinary medicine. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and spending time with her 8 grandchildren.

Robin Williams

Betsy graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology of Colorado in 2006. Since then she has enjoyed working in general practice; aiding her patients in having a voice and a low stress experience. She works part time at Aboite Animal Hospital and Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic in Leo. Betsy, along with her husband Greg, have three boys which keeps them moving.

Betsy Bierbaum

Working with animals has been Mckaelon's lifelong dream. McKaelon joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in March of 2019. She graduated from Homestead High School in December of 2018, and has future plans of attending Purdue University to become a veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs, her leopard gecko, and her hedgehog.
