Aboite Animal Hospital Team

Dr. Chastain is co-owner of Animal Hospital of Syracuse, Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic, and Aboite Animal Hospital. He graduated from DePauw University in 1988 and received his D.V.M from Purdue University in 1992. He previously was a veterinarian in Ft. Wayne at St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital from 1992 to 2012. He has a special interest in veterinary dentistry/oral surgery and enjoys general medicine and surgery. Dr. Chastain's wife, Tonya, is an elementary school teacher in Northwest Allen Community Schools. They have 3 children, Chandler, Caitlyn, and Caroline, and a cat named Pedro.
Dr. Bill Chastain

Dr. Parker received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2011, and completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University. She has been an associate veterinarian at Aboite Animal Hospital since 2012. She enjoys examining and treating reptiles, small mammals, as well as dogs and cats. She and her husband have 2 daughters, 2 dogs, a bearded dragon and 2 ferrets.
Dr. Linda Parker

Dr. Koch received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2009, and completed her clinical year at Purdue University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in June of 2018 after working at another clinic on the north side of Ft. Wayne for almost 10 years. She and her husband have 3 kids, a yellow lab named Luna, and a cat named T-Rex.
Dr. Nicole Koch

Dr. Cassie received her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in 2020. She has a passion for companion animals, primarily focusing on cats and dogs but also has an interest in horses. She received an award for Excellence in Dermatology in school, and she continues to carry her love of skincare into daily practice. She and her husband have two cats, Gelato and Spumoni, and a feisty Siberian Husky named Aurora. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, rock-climbing and gardening.
Dr. Cassie Ceckowski
Registered Veterinary Nurses

Kenzie started at Aboite Animal hospital as an intern student in 2014, and officially joined the team as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in January 2016 after graduating from Purdue University's Veterinary Nursing program in 2015. She and her husband have a son named Walker, and a black Labrador Retriever named Brantley. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, summer days at the lake, exercising, country concerts and watching sports.
Kenzie

Rachel has had a passion for animals since her early childhood. She joined the Aboite Animal Hospital family in July of 2015, and graduated from Purdue's Veterinary Nursing Distance Learning Program in December of 2016. She has a loving yet stubborn Jack Russell Terrier named Zoe. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, going for bike rides, and being outdoors.
Rachel

Erin joined the Aboite Animal Hospital family in June of 2020. She is originally from Minnesota but relocated to Indiana in 2017, along with her husband who owns a racing team. She has 2 dogs: a Corgi named Lou Lou, and a Pit Bull mix named Kimi. She graduated with her Veterinary Technology degree in 2010 and started her career in 2011 after moving to Alaska, where she worked the overnight shift at the 24/7 emergency hospital in Anchorage. She returned home to Minnesota in 2012, before relocating to Indiana. She feels that the most rewarding part of her job is forming a bond with her critically ill patients while nursing them back to health, and getting to see them go home with their family.
Erin

Bre graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at International Business College in February 2016 where she received her associates in Veterinary Technology. She worked for a couple of other practices before joining the team at Aboite Animal Hospital in January 2021. She and her husband have 2 dogs: a Greyhound named Andy and a Border Collie mix named Nova, as well as 3 cats. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, watching her husband play hockey, and traveling.
Breanne

Michelle is part of Dr. Chastain's traveling dental team, which goes to all 3 hospitals: Animal Hospital of Syracuse, Aboite Animal Hospital, and Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic. Michelle has an Associate's Degree in Biology from IPFW and an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology from Purdue University. She worked at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo for several years before entering general practice, where she has been for the last 17 years. She has a strong interest in animal dentistry, nutrition and client education. She dedicates herself to aiding animals and being their advocate. She and her husband have a Golden Retriever named Luna, and 5 cats: Hobbes, Wally, Lenny, Penny and Winnie.

Emily

Michelle interned at Aboite Animal Hospital during her summer breaks while finishing her Veterinary Technician degree from Purdue University. She graduated in 2022 and joined the team that summer. As a child, she grew up on a guinea pig farm, and that's where her love for animals blossomed. In her spare time, she collects rare knives, builds puzzles, plays piano, is a professional whistler, and breeds mealworms for reptiles.

Assistants

Vicki joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in the fall of 1997. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grand-child. She also has a miniature Dachshund named Roxie. Vicki is also a member of the Almost Home Dachshund Rescue Society, and does some pet-sitting on the side.
Vicki

Holly joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2018. She originally went to school for dance at Ball State University, but later pursued her interest in veterinary medicine in 2004 by becoming a veterinary assistant. She and her husband have 1 daughter, Liza, and a Black-mouth Cur named Bucky. In her spare time, Holly enjoys fitness, music, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and swimming.
Holly

Angel joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in July of 2019. She graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2017 with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She and her husband have a cat named Mo and a pitbull named Julie. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She's always loved animals and is excited to be a part of the Aboite Animal Hospital family.
Angel

Marisa joined the Aboite Animal Hospital family in June of 2021. She graduated from International Business College in February 2020 after completing her Veterinary Technology degree. She has 3 kitties: Flynn, Rajah and Kiara, and a Bearded Dragon named Kovu. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and exploring state parks, eating pickles, and traveling to new destinations any chance she has.
Marisa

Rachel works at both Aboite Animal Hospital and Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic. She is currently enrolled Purdue University's Veterinary Technology Distance Learning Program. When she's not caring for your furry friends that come in, she's at home cuddling with her own fur baby Missy, who is a 10 year old Tortie Domestic Short-haired kitty that has helped her get through some of the toughest days of growing into adulthood.

Hope joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in July of 2022 after moving from Maine. She graduated from the University of Maine in 2019 after completing her Wildlife Ecology Degree. She has 2 dogs: a Pomsky named Skye and a Dachshund mix named Asahi. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, traveling and cuddling with her dogs.

Client Relations Specialists

Cathe always had family pets growing up, so, naturally, she has always loved animals. She has been in the veterinary field since 2000. She started at Aboite Animal Hospital in August of 2009 after moving to Ft. Wayne. She has a Goldendoodle named Ella and a Sheepadoodle named Cora. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and step-daughter, playing tennis, being with friends, and watching Netflix.
Cathe

Robin joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in January 2016. She is originally from Indianapolis, where she and her husband raised 4 sons, 3 of which are in the Army. Her background is in finance, but her love of animals, especially her shih tzu Charlie, has brought her to veterinary medicine. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and spending time with her 8 grandchildren.
Robin

Skyelar joined the Aboite Animal Hospital team in October of 2021. She grew up always wanting to be around animals and had pets ranging from dogs and cats, to lizards and hamsters. That love for animals brought her to veterinary medicine, working as a receptionist since 2018 and she has loved every minute of it. In her spare time, she enjoys snuggling her chubby Chihuahua named Peanut.
